TransforMOTION
The beauty of transformation, expressed through melodic evolution and open to endless creative visual interpretations. Simple themes are developed and expanded upon within each movement, before coming together for the finale. Includes "Gabriel's Oboe" and "Overture & March" from Carl Maria Von Weber's 'Turandot'.
- Emergence - after a rousing introduction, the Overture & March theme is introduced and developed in a series of impressive features and full ensemble climaxes
- Soliloquence - a soloist introduces the achingly beautiful melody from "Gabriel's Oboe", before developing into a breathtaking resolution
- Convergence - this fast-paced closer develops a third theme before bringing all of the melodic material together in a powerful finale
Originally commissioned by the Carroll High School Band, Ft. Wayne, IN. Doug Hassell, director.
