Scars of Gold

Explore the Japanese art of kintsugi, finding beauty in imperfection through a powerful story of resilience and transformation. Featuring Separate Ways (Journey), Ecstasy of Gold (Morricone), Scars (Papa Roach), and Thing of Gold (Snarky Puppy), this show explores the concept of transforming that which is broken, creating something greater in the process.

  • Broken - A dramatic opener blending Separate Ways and Ecstasy of Gold sets the stage for a world shattered yet filled with potential.
  • Pieced Together - A stripped down, emotional version of Scars by Papa Roach conveys the emotional and physical act of mending, as broken pieces begin to reform.
  • Made Whole - Uses Snarky Puppy's "Thing of Gold" to celebrate the beauty in imperfection, revealing the golden scars as themes from the rest of the show return for the finale.

Alternate themes: Kintsugi, Beauty in the Broken

Originally commissioned by the Central Crossing High School Band. Eric Hubbell, director.
