About the show

Some roads lead forward, others circle back, and each obstacle forces a new direction. Using Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way” and Styx’s “Show Me the Way” this production turns the field into a map of choices, charting a path around obstacles to create a path of your own.

  • The Road Ahead - the show begins with an uplifting setting of the chorus from “Go Your Own Way”, establishing the theme of possibility and motion.
  • Obstacles - the second movement darkens in color and harmony, representing the detours and barriers that test persistence. Layered rhythms and dissonant harmonies show the struggle of trying to move forward when every turn seems blocked.
  • Show Me the Way - Styx’s timeless melody emerges as a moment of reflection and guidance. A soloist introduces the melody before the full ensemble builds to a stirring resolution.
  • Go Your Own Way - the closer bursts with clarity and momentum in a confident, straightforward treatment of “Go Your Own Way”. The music and motion converge into a finale of celebration, representing the courage to follow one’s own path.

Alternate themes: Crossroads, Fork in the Road
