Order and Chaos
About the show
Explore the eternal conflict between chaos and order with this dynamic musical interpretation featuring original music with Barber's "Medea's Dance of Vengeance" - complete with full sound FX design!
The show begins with a calm, familiar Bach chorale (commonly known as the hymn "It is Well With My Soul") which begins to morph as the woodwinds interject the first bit of "chaos" into the show. The chorale morphs and suddenly the entire band is playing a sinister version for the opening climax. The opener introduces an electric guitar (could be played on a keyboard or even a talented woodwind soloist!) as chaos takes over. A tranquil middle section expands the opening chorale into a full ballad. Medea's Dance of Vengeance takes over for the closer, followed by a finale which finally achieves a balance between the two opposing forces.
