On the Rise

About the show
Ascend from simple beginnings to full potential in this exciting production about "Leveling Up". Beginning with the steady build of Ravel's "Bolero" and moving through Ben Folds' "Capable of Anything", Katy Perry's "Rise", and an uplifting finale inspired by Vienna Teng's "Level Up", this show celebrates growth, resilience, and potential.
- Momentum - a quiet pulse from Ravel's "Bolero" starts almost unnoticed, adding layers of color and rhythm as performers literally and musically take the first steps upward. Step-wise builds in music and drill suggest climbing out of a flat, ordinary space. The texture opens into Ben Folds' "Capable of Anything", turning the introduction into a confident, contemporary opener.
- Rise - Katy Perry's "Rise" becomes the emotional center of the show. A small ensemble introduces the melody over intimate front ensemble scoring, focusing on the moments when progress stalls or slips backward. Gradually, the arrangement gathers strength into a powerful arrival.
- Level Up - the closer uses Vienna Teng's "Level Up" as an anthem for the final push. Rhythmic figures snap into place, harmonies brighten, and earlier motives return in stronger form as performers build to a celebratory finale.
Alternate themes: Next Level, Level Up, Against the Odds
