Drops in the Ocean
About the show
"You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop" - Rumi. Debussy's "La Mer" and "Nuages" provide the main musical inspiration for this show, which also includes "Message in a Bottle" by The Police, with original music.
- Droplets - after a stirring introduction, the ensemble breaks into separate pieces, representing the individual droplets the form the vast ocean
- Coalesce - a contemplative arrangement of "Message in a Bottle" leads to a bright, grandiose resolution
- The Ocean in You - a short but sweet closer with a rousing conclusion

This show does not include a full percussion arrangement, only a minimal outline written by the winds arranger as part of the original commission. If you are interested in commissioning a percussion arrangement customized for your ensemble, please contact us.
