Astral Cycle
Follows the life cycle of a star from beginning to end.
- Nebula - small melodic fragments are chained together in a continual build to the opening impact, where the star is first formed
- Fusion - a high energy opener as the star begins to create self sustaining energy and light
- Red Giant - the music softens, as if viewing the now gigantic star from a great distance, and wonders at its beauty
- Supernova - as the star becomes more unstable, the pace quickens and builds to an explosive impact
- Black Hole - churning and whirling, the music comes to a frenetic, exciting conclusion

This show does not include a full percussion arrangement, only a minimal outline written by the winds arranger as part of the original commission. If you are interested in commissioning a percussion arrangement customized for your ensemble, please contact us!
