A Letter to Myself
Imagine writing a letter to a younger version of yourself - this show explores some possible themes of such a letter, following the arc from childhood to old age.
- Play - a slightly nostalgic but playful tone reminds us to take time to enjoy life, especially during childhood
- Love - a flute/horn duet leads this movement, reflecting on the importance of building and maintaining relationships as we grow into adulthood
- Courage - this movement portrays the inevitable hardships and challenges we endure, and invites us to face them courageously
- Legacy - a triumphant finale taken from Stravinsky's 'The Firebird' conveys the desire to leave a positive legacy as one looks back on their life
