A Change of Seasons
Portray the "in-between" moments of seasonal change as Summer shifts into Autumn, which fades into Winter, and finally returns to Spring. Featuring the melody from the hymn "Beautiful Savior", "In the Bleak Midwinter", and motifs from Vivaldi's "Spring", this show will keep your audience enthralled from start to finish. Contains a smaller percussion arrangement for groups with limited instrumentation, but could be customized to fit your group.
- Summerfall - A powerful and radiant opening transitions from the brightness of summer to the darker hues of autumn, using melodic fragments from the hymn "Beautiful Savior".
- Frostwind - A hauntingly beautiful portrayal of autumn's chill turning to winter, with the solemn strains of "In the Bleak Midwinter".
- Winterspring - Vibrant and uplifting, this movement features motifs from Vivaldi's Spring, celebrating the renewal of life as winter melts into spring. The exciting finale intertwines Vivaldi with "Beautiful Savior".
Alternate themes: Eternal Cycle, Turning Seasons
Originally commissioned by the Concordia High School Band. Jennifer Porath, Dick Karkosky, directors.
